When we think of violations occuring in regard to flameproofing, the first thing that comes to our minds is that, usually, the business owner failed to be in compliance with fire code regulations. However, as certified flameproofers, we have a responsibility to be in compliance with FDNY codes and regulations as well. In order to apply fire repellent and issue fire retardant certificates, we ourselves must have a Certificate of Fitness issued to us from the FDNY. There are several standards that we as flameproofers need to uphold in order for us to have this certificate and be in good standing with the FDNY.
At Certified Flameproofing, we are seriously committing to being in full compliance with all the requirements put out by the FDNY. As a company that is fully certified to apply fire retardants, the FDNY requires that we ourselves apply the fire repellent treatments and that we personally oversee it. This includes both the application of the fire retardants and the testing of all materials that have been treated, which ensures that the materials are now flame-proof. We must perform both of these services ourselves before we can issue an affidavit. This is something that we are not allowed to out-source to other people or companies.
Also, we are not allowed to issue affidavits when scenery or decorations did not pass the flameproof test. This guarantees that we will re-apply treatments if needed if any failed to pass the test. We are committed to making sure that your establishment is properly flameproofed; we would never compromise your safety or risk our good standing with the FDNY. Our promise to you is that every particular as it relates to flameproofing your business will be in accordance with FDNY standards before we endorse any certificates.
